Brentford News – Issue Three – 25 November 2015

The winter edition of the Brentford News – a quarterly collaborative magazine published by both Brentford Football Club and the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust – has been published. The third edition has seen its distribution extended to cover 29,000 households in the areas surrounding Griffin Park. The distribution area now covers Northfields; South Ealing; Little Ealing; Clayponds; Brentford

Spring Grove; Kew; Strand on the Green; Gunnersbury; Acton Green, South Acton, and Acton Town.

The magazine highlights what’s going on in at both the Club and Community Sports Trust, with match fixtures, ticket news, player interviews and offers for games at Griffin Park as well as programmes and events being run by Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

It also includes updates on the planned Community Stadium at Lionel Road and the possible regeneration of Gunnersbury Park.

Public Exhibition on proposals for Lionel Road South – 15th/16th May 2015

On Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May a public exhibition was held at the Brentford Boating Arch at Kew Bridge on the plans to develop the land surrounding the new Brentford Community Stadium at Lionel Road South.

In preparation for a reserved matters planning application Willmott Dixon presented their plans to deliver new homes, shops and public and private amenity space.

Members of the Willmott Dixon and Brentford Community Stadium project team were present to explain the proposals and answer questions regarding the Lionel Road South proposals and the Brentford Community Stadium project.

Brentford Community Stadium: Valuation of Community Benefit Report

This report, prepared by Dr Adam Brown & Dr Tim Crabbe at Substance, outlines the value of the work undertaken by the Brentford Community Sports Trust and Griffin Park Learning Zone in 2012-13 and provides an estimation of the future value of their work.

Completed on 29th October 2013, this report was submitted as part of the planning application for the Brentford Community Stadium project at Lionel Road South.

Public exhibition on proposals for Lionel Road South

On Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May a public exhibition will be held at Brentford Boating Arch on the plans to develop the land surrounding the new Brentford Community Stadium at Lionel Road South.

Brentford FC received detailed planning consent for this new community stadium in June 2014.

Outline planning consent was also granted for up to 910 new homes, 1,200 sqm of retail and a new 160 bed hotel alongside public and private amenity space on the land surrounding stadium site.

Prime Place, which is part of Willmott Dixon – Brentford FC’s development partner, is now preparing a reserved matters planning application which will detail how these elements of the site are to be developed.

The public exhibition will provide an opportunity for local residents to give their feedback on the plans. Members of the Prime Place/Willmott Dixon and Brentford FC project teams will be available to explain the proposals and answer any questions you may have.
